Are your toys safe for children?

Absolutely! Our toys are designed for small children and are made with them in mind. Please note that our toys are safe for children 3 years of age and up.

Our toys are made from unfinished pine and are coated with food-grade beeswax. We never use any nails, metals or any materials that are sharp or unsafe for small, playing hands.

We ensure our toys are sturdy, strong and able to withstand the physical manifestation of your child’s imagination. Should a toy break or you have any issues with it, please contact us. Our guarantee ensures that we will fix or replace the toy so that you and your children remain happy with our creations.

How do I place and pay for my order?

Using Our Website

For in-stock items, you can order directly from our website and pay with debit and credit through our secure payment platform (your payment information will not be retained).

For out of stock items or more customized items, please contact us with your order details so we can help you fulfill your order.

Paying In-Person

You have the option of placing your order online and selecting the ‘Pay At Pickup’ option where you can pay in person. When you pick up your order, you have the option to pay by debit or credit card, as well as cash or e-transfer. Payable to peter@peterswoodentoys.ca

How and When Will I Get My Order?

We are a small, family-run local business that primarily serves the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Once we receive your order, it will be ready for pickup within 2 business days. For orders that need to be shipped, please allow for extra time.

What if the item I want isn’t in stock?

If the item you want is not available in our current inventory, (labeled “Out of Stock”), it means that the item is still in production but it will have to be scheduled. Typically it can take one to two weeks to complete. Please contact us with the item(s) you wish to have made and we will contact you when ready. Please allow for a one to two week delay in order to give us time to craft your order.

Please Note

Since this is a creative process, we are always making changes and improvements,. Which means the item you receive may not be exactly the same as on the picture. If you (or the recipient) are not happy with the item, please contact us so we car work something out as we are open to continuous improvement.

Do you do custom orders?

Yes, we do! And we would love to hear your ideas and how we can help make them a reality. Please contact us with details about your idea so we can determine the feasibility, provide a quote and hopefully make something you’ll enjoy.

We charge an initial custom fee and the final price will depend on the nature of the request and resulting effort required. We will be in communication with you throughout the entire process, and are excited to make your vision come to life!

Please Note
We only make simple wooden toys similar to what we offer. We are not able to fulfill bulk orders.

• A business card dump truck. Logo was “burned” on the wood
• Babar car request for the toy and painted by the customer
• Le Petit Prince biplane also painted by the customer the head was 3D printed by PWT
• Customer requested a motorcycle and this is the design I came up with

Do you personalize your toys?

Yes, we do! For a small additional fee, we can add an inscription to your item (ex: a name, monograph, etc.) through the process of pyrography, where the inscription is “burned” onto the wood. Details will vary due to the nature of the art form. Please Contact Us.

Peter’s Wooden Toys Guarantee

By their nature, wooden toys can break depending upon the type of wood and the stress that kids put these toys under – who can predict what a child’s imagination will come up with! Our toys are not indestructible and may occasionally come apart, wheels fall off, things break off and so forth. Should this occur, we promise to repair or replace these toys to be stronger and hopefully better withstand future play.

Please contact us to let us know how the toy broke and we will do what we can to fix or replace the toy to ensure you and your children remain happy with our creations.

Can I return my order and get a refund?

No, regretfully we do not accept returns and do not provide refunds. All sales are final.

We do however, provide a warranty on defects or if the product breaks or becomes unsafe to use. Please contact us to describe you concerns and we will be happy to discuss how we can resolve any issues you may have. At our discretion, we may either repair the item or provide a similar or comparable product. We strive to have our customers completely satisfied and ensure you and your children remain happy with our creations.
